Inner Line Permit (ILP) Required for Ziro Valley
All domestic Indian citizens residing outside the state must obtain an approved Inner Line Permit (ILP) prior to entering Ziro Valley. Foreign travelers require a Protected Area Permit (PAP) or local registration.

Permits are required for all visitors to Ziro Valley.
- Inner Line Permit (ILP) — Indian Citizens: Required for entry into Arunachal Pradesh. Apply online at arunachalilp.com or eilp.arunachal.gov.in. Fee: ₹300 for up to 3 days, ₹500 for up to 14 days. Processing: 24-48 hours. Carry 2 passport-sized photos.
- Protected Area Permit (PAP) — Foreign Nationals: Required for entry. Must be arranged through a registered tour operator. Requires a minimum group of 2 people. Valid for 30 days.
- Checkpoints: Your ILP/PAP will be checked at the entry point to Arunachal Pradesh (usually at Banderdewa or Laptap on the Itanagar route). Keep printed copies handy.
Note: Permits for Ziro Valley do not require any additional local permissions beyond the standard Arunachal ILP.
