Kohima / Viswema Ascent to SAYO Rest House
Depart Kohima at 06:30 AM via NH2 to Viswema. Take a 4x4 Bolero pickup 8 km up to Trekkers Point. Ascend the steep mossy stone staircase (45–60 mins) to the Barail ridge crest. Enjoy sweeping panoramic vistas across the rolling green dwarf-bamboo wonderland. Walk 2 hours (5.5 km) along the ridge contour to the SAYO Trekkers Rest House (2,452 m). Check into your dormitory or pitch your alpine tent. In the afternoon, descend into the valley basin to explore the crystal-clear Dzukou river and rock overhangs. Evening hot dinner around the woodfire hearth under a brilliant, starlit sky.

Dawn Valley Panorama & Jakhama Descent
Wake at 05:00 AM to witness sunrise over the mist-filled dwarf-bamboo basin as morning light illuminates frosted hillocks and winding streams. Enjoy hot black tea and breakfast. Begin descent via the steep Jakhama stone staircase trail (2.5–3.5 hours), following the roaring mountain river gorge down to the Jakhama farm road. Board your pre-arranged vehicle and drive back to Kohima or Dimapur Airport for onward journey.
