Kohima War Cemetery
"When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today."
Built on the former Garrison Hill, the Kohima War Cemetery is a memorial dedicated to soldiers of the Allied Forces who died in the Second World War at Kohima in April 1944. Maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, it marks the site of one of the fiercest battles, the "Stalingrad of the East", where the Japanese invasion of India was halted.
