Itineraries for Khonoma Khonoma

Depart Kohima in the morning for the 45-minute drive along the Western Angami road to Khonoma. Arrive at the village gate, pay the community eco-fee, and check into your Angami homestay. Savor a home-cooked lunch featuring Galho and seasonal greens. In the afternoon, embark on a 3-hour guided heritage walking tour: visit the carved clan gates of Merhüma and Semoma Khel, the historic Semoma Fort bastion with 1879 war bullet marks, and the traditional Morung youth dormitory. Spend the evening gathered around the host family's woodfire hearth enjoying authentic Naga cuisine and stories from village elders.

Wake early to watch golden morning sunlight illuminate the terraced paddy fields. Walk down to the agricultural valley to learn about centuries-old Alder tree (*Alnus nepalensis*) agroforestry and gravity-fed irrigation systems. Afterward, take a gentle 2-hour nature walk along the buffer zone of the Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary (KNCTS) in search of Blyth's Tragopans and laughingthrushes.
